A generation job that completes and reports success but returns a clip with no usable picture: solid black throughout, or one frame held for the whole clip. Also known as Black render. A form of failure mode in cinematography.
Within Numonic's Cinematography vocabulary, Blank render sits under failure mode, alongside related concepts such as Audio-video coupling, Drift inheritance, and Environment lock.
Numonic captures failure mode like Blank render as structured metadata, so every take stays linked to the prompt and settings that produced it.
Numonic captures the prompt, seed, and node graph behind each ComfyUI generation automatically, so the result you nailed today is still reproducible next month.
