Only on request, when no original exists. An AI vision model writes a prompt that could produce a similar image. It is an estimate, not the original prompt.

What happens to your file

  • PNG files are read in your browser first. If the original prompt is in the PNG text chunks, the file never leaves your device.
  • If not, PNGs up to 4MB — and all JPEG and WebP files — are sent to our server to read their EXIF/XMP metadata. They are processed in memory and discarded; we never store them. Larger PNGs are only checked in your browser.
  • Only if you click "Generate estimated prompt" is the image sent, via our server, to a third-party AI vision model provider to write the estimate. Neither the image nor the estimate is stored by Numonic. Estimates are limited to 5 per visitor per hour.
