Portfolio Distillation

The process of progressively filtering a large generative asset library down to a curated portfolio — typically the top 2% of output representing the best work. Uses layered signals including quality scoring, session highlights, and deliberate aesthetic selection.

AI art workflows generate far more content than any creator can manually review. A productive ComfyUI session might produce hundreds of images, of which perhaps a dozen are worth keeping and two or three are portfolio-worthy. Portfolio distillation addresses this signal-to-noise challenge through progressive filtering.

The distillation process operates in layers. Automated quality scoring eliminates obvious failures (artifacts, blank outputs, corrupted generations). Session-level highlight detection surfaces the statistically unusual outputs within each session. Behavioral signals (which images the creator downloads, shares, or returns to) indicate implicit quality judgments. The final selection remains human — but the preceding layers reduce the decision space from thousands to dozens.
